Home Alone

Greetings, Fellow Felines!

Would you believe it? Our Human is off again tomorrow on yet another trip with her choir! That’s right, She’s going jaunting off to Europe and We are being left here alone, in the care of a Cat-Sitter, who’s going to come every day to feed us and attend to Our Needs. Unbelievable, isn’t it? In the past, whenever She has gone off somewhere, our human Grandpa has come to minister to Us, but She says that he can’t do this anymore, he is getting too old for all that rushing about. She says this cat-sitter is recommended by the (deep breath before saying the word…) V-E-T. The cat-sitter  (who is called Luba) used to be his assistant (that was before We met him), but she’s had to give up working because she is going to have a kitten herself very shortly. Well, we can tell you, Fellow Felines, by the look of her, we think she’s about to have a whole litter. We only hope it doesn’t happen early, before our Human gets home from this place she is going to. She says she is flying to Geneva, but that’s silly, everybody knows humans can’t fly. If they could, they’d be like birds and we could chase them, as any self-respecting Feline is bound to do 😉
Well, we must sign off now, as our Human wants to turn off the computer machine and we don’t know how to switch it on by ourselves, nor do we know her passwords, so it will be a week before we can report to you all again.
Keep well, Fellow Felines.

About Shimona from the Palace

Born in London, the UK, I came on Aliyah in my teens and now live in Jerusalem, where I practice law. I am a firm believer in the words of Albert Schweitzer: "There are two means of refuge from the sorrows of this world - Music and Cats." To that, you can add Literature. To curl up on the sofa with a good book, a cat at one's feet and another one on one's lap, with a classical symphony or concerto in the background - what more can a person ask for?

  1. Hi, Possum and Pixie, so good to hear from you. Well, at least your human has someone to come in to care for you. My Mom just leaves food and water out and plenty of litter for me. I’m so lonesome that I can’t eat or drink without her. But, you two have each other.

Shimona, what a joy it was reading this!…the love for your cats just shines! (even if it was the cats speaking)…your sense of humor is wonderful!…it might be a good thing they don’t know your passwords – hard to tell what kind of mischief they could get into…
